Not only was it a total honor being asked to contribute to this..?! It marked the first serious deadline I had while I was attempting to switch from using Logic Pro to Ableton Live as my main music writing software. I definitely still use both to this day but, Ableton has become paramount... Riveting, yes.

So, fake programmed drums along with guitars and bass going through Sansamps..? For as much as I deliberately approached this as a fun challenge and FINALLY, a gun to my head to pick up Ableton as my main writing platform.. picking one of their songs and paying tribute to a band who holds more strength in their ability to record on a flip phone with water damage and still melt fucking face..?! That's a bit of an uphill battle to say the least.

That said, I'm proud of this track.. It begs mentioning that I don't believe it'd connect as much if Christy weren't to have been involved singing.. Sincerely, Christy Costello... xo.

No band will ever do what Unsane does better than they. It's not the stripes they've earned as much as the dense territory they've taken machetes to for longer than most people have been buying records. Admittedly with what I wrote about HOW I created this track for the comp.. yup, I'm a nerd. I loved every moment of getting better at the software that enables me now to make the most fucked up of fucked up things to put out into the world but... it's impossible to deny (and certainly be humbled by) when there's a band out there that is as pure and even more specifically, effective, in their awesome brutality as Unsane is..

This was the first piece of vinyl where everyone else in Seawhores really had invested thoroughly in their own very specific and nuanced.. new chapters in life. In retrospect finally, it's kinda beautiful.. I'm not being fellatio here.. I write that because I couldn't possibly imagine a cooler fucking project to sink my teeth into opening a fresh new chapter with MARX and Seawhores as with this comp, and, alongside so many other great bands..! This one's a feather in the cap for everyone in this camp for sure.. Thank you Evil Lord Xenu.. Praise be thee
